Soft Tea Scones Recipe Kenya

Tea scones are simple, affordable, and loved in many Kenyan homes. They are great with tea, coffee, juice, butter, or jam, and they also work well for office snack boxes.

Prep: 15 minutes Cook: 10-15 minutes Yield: 6-9 scones Beginner

Ingredients

  • 260 g all-purpose flour
  • 60 g sugar
  • 4 g baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 78 g butter or margarine
  • 85 ml milk
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • Raisins or sultanas, optional
  • Extra egg or milk for brushing

Moh Bakes Tips

  • Handle the dough lightly to keep scones soft.
  • Do not roll the dough too thin.

  2. Sift flour and baking powder into a bowl.
