Soft Cinnamon Rolls Recipe in Kenya

Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons margarine or butter
- 3 tablespoons sugar for filling
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons margarine or butter for filling
Method
- Mix flour, sugar, yeast and salt.
- Add warm milk, egg and margarine, then knead into a soft dough.
- Cover and allow the dough to rise until doubled.
- Roll out the dough and spread margarine.
- Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon evenly.
- Roll tightly and cut into pieces.
- Place in a tray and allow a second rise.
- Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 20 to 25 minutes.
Common Mistakes
- Using very hot milk kills the yeast.
- Skipping the second rise makes the rolls dense.
- Too little filling makes the rolls plain and less attractive.
