Homemade Doughnuts Recipe
Homemade doughnuts are soft, filling and suitable for tea breaks, gifts, family snacks and office orders. The key is giving the dough enough time to rise.
Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg

Method
- Mix flour, sugar, yeast and salt in a bowl.
- Add egg, margarine and warm milk.
- Knead until the dough is smooth and soft.
- Cover and let the dough rise until doubled.
- Roll and cut into doughnut shapes.
- Let the shaped doughnuts rise again for 15 to 25 minutes.
- Fry on medium heat until golden brown.
- Drain and coat with sugar if preferred.
