Queen Cakes Recipe
Queen cakes are simple, soft and suitable for tea breaks, school snacks and beginner baking. They are smaller than cupcakes and easy to pack.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup margarine or butter
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- Prepare queen cake cases or a small cake tray.
- Beat margarine or butter with sugar until light.
- Add eggs one at a time.
- Add vanilla essence.
- Add flour mixture and milk in turns.
- Fill cases halfway to two-thirds full.
- Bake for 18 to 25 minutes until golden.
