Easy Rock Buns Recipe
Rock buns are simple, quick and good for tea breaks. They use basic ingredients and do not need complicated decoration.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup margarine or butter
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- Raisins or mixed fruit, optional
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
- Rub in margarine or butter until the mixture looks crumbly.
- Add raisins if using.
- Mix egg, milk and vanilla separately, then add to the dry mixture.
- Spoon rough mounds onto a greased baking tray.
- Bake for 18 to 25 minutes until golden.

- Leave space between each bun on the tray.
