Decide whether the cake is ceremonial, practical or both
If the main purpose is the cake-cutting photo and a symbolic slice for guests, say that. If most guests will expect cake after the meal, say that instead. Two events with the same attendance can need different cake plans because the menu creates different demand.
Do not reduce the decision to a fixed serving chart. Shape, structure, cutting style and the rest of the dessert menu all matter.
Coordinate flavours and colours across the dessert table
You can use the celebration cake to anchor the table visually while allowing smaller desserts to provide variety. Share the event colours and any existing dessert-table plan so the cake does not compete with everything around it.
If cupcakes are included, decide whether they repeat the cake message, use the same palette or serve a separate role for easy individual portions.
Put one person in charge of serving
A buffet can lead to uneven cake portions if guests serve themselves before the organizer understands how much is available. Assign a caterer, family member or event team member to control cutting and distribution.
Tell Moh Bakes the guest count and dessert context during quoting so the final recommendation reflects the event rather than only the cake photo you like.
